We're always proud when the critics love us and appreciate our efforts.  We're also especially pleased by the kind words and high praise of our most important critics... our guests.  We'd like to hear from you!

- ZAGAT SURVEY -
AMERICA'S 1000 TOP ITALIAN RESTAURANTS 2008

"A "surprise find" that "belies its location" among the offices of Metropark, this Iselin Northern Italian is "a cut above" considering its "varied menu"; "friendly", "attentive service" and "homey atmosphere"; it's "a little pricey" "for the area", however, so keep it in mind "for a business lunch" or "to celebrate a special occasion."

ZAGAT SURVEY - New Jersey Restaurants - 2005/06
"Though 'hidden' among 'all the offices' in the Metropark area, this Iselin Southern Italian is a 'great surprise', where the 'flavorful' food, 'exceptional' service and 'upscale' ambiance mean 'you can't go wrong'; it's 'expensive' to a few, but 'worth every penny' to most."

Reader's Choice - New Jersey's Top 55 Restaurants - Voted "Best Undiscovered" and "Best Fine Italian".
New Jersey Monthly - August 2004

"How can you go wrong when you're greeted at the door with a welcome in Italian?  Ask surveyors who swoon for the imaginative specials and excellent wine list at this undiscovered "gem" in Iselin, with food that's heaven on earth, no one minds it's served in a renovated building".
Zagat Rated "Excellent" 2003/2004

"It's wall-papered walls and quiet music seem to pair perfectly with the mature, professional bowtied wait staff that circulates through the space"
"It's exploration of flavors and pairings that push beyond your expectations, suggests a kitchen presence that came of age in the 90's, a decade that was to food what the 60's were to sex".
"My Carpaccio di Manzo ($10), for example, a Southern Italian standard, was beautifully plated and dressed with a wonderful extra-virgin olive oil"
"I've had Belgian mussels, French mussels mariniere and countless mussels marinara, but the sausage-studded varietal served here, called Cozze al Sugo di Salsiccia ($9.50), was hands down the best tomato-based, preparation of the shellfish I've had yet.  The flavors of the delicately herbed, olive oil-scented tomato sauce helped bring out the best of those in the mussels; hints of salt in the shellfish brought the faint sweetness of the sauce and the subtle sumptuousness of the oil to life.  The addition of sausage was brilliant; it diversified the textures of the dish while introducing aromatic fennel flavors that paired beautifully with the mussels and sauce".
"The Scaloppine di Vitello Duchessa ($20) is a dish of thinly sliced sautéed veal that practically melts in your mouth".
"Some desserts here are made in-house, and the two we tried were pretty and delicious".
"Served warm with slices of apple, strawberry sauce and other accompaniments, the Chocolate Souffle ($8) wasn't a classic souffle, but its warm gooey, kid-friendly middle and slightly bitter, grownup dark chocolate flavor, opened my eyes to Casa Giuseppe's real asset: it's young, adventurous heart".
"3 1/2 Stars - 3 is very good and 4 is excellent"

- Casa Giuseppe - An Iselin Italian is Way Younger Than You'd Guess
Home News Tribune - By Christopher Thumann - 6/6/2003

"Fine Italian fare is served with panache at Casa Giuseppe in Iselin"
"Ambience:  valet park your car on Friday and Saturday evenings alongside the nondescript brick building that houses Casa Giuseppe, comprised of three warmly lit, intimate dining rooms and a compact bar room.  Staff:  pleasant and professional.  Food:  The well-executed fare spotlights the cuisine of Naples".
"Dinner began with an excellent complimentary bruschetta.  Earthy appetizers included a robust zuppa del giorno (soup of the day $5.95), a peppery purée of potatoes, eggplant and bell-peppers".
"Antipasto montese ($10) also made good use of the grill.  The succulent trio of jumbo shrimp, sea scallops and portobello mushrooms tasted of smoke and fire.  Feathery zucchini fritti (fried zucchini $9) practically floated off the plate".
"Entrees were lovely".
"Capellini della casa ($17.50) was a heavenly ensemble of angel hair pasta, jumbo shrimp and artichoke hearts tossed in a creamy pink sauce".
"A must-order side dish - spinaci in padella con pignoli e uva passa (spinach sautéed in olive oil with garlic, pine nuts and raisins topped by shaved parmesan cheese, $9.50) - a Neapolitan specialty, was delectably sweet and savory".
"Creamy hazelnut gelato hit the mark".
"Overall, dinner at Casa Giuseppe was an enjoyable feast of fine Italian food and wine".
"Food - 3 Stars, Ambience - 2 1/2 Stars, Service - 3 Stars, Overall - 3 Stars".
